Custom Model Orders

If you are interested in having us produce custom models for you, please email us at or call 1-888-777-6311 (outside USA 1-928-634-8500). Normally these types of orders are placed by an airline, however any one who wishes to place an order can. In fact, a custom model airplane with your logo can be a great promotional item, one that will not soon be forgotten.

Order Requirements
The normal minimum order requirement is 1,000 pieces, although in some cases we are able to reduce the minimum quantity to accommodate your needs.

Before we can begin the new production project, we will need a 50% deposit prior to creating the scaled graphics for your model. We will first provide you with electronic artwork of the model layout specific to your custom design for you to approve. We will then produce a sample for your review and approval before we begin mass production. The balance of your order will be required prior to shipping your completed models.

Order Time Frame
4-6 months is the normal schedule for custom model production from the time we receive an order and all materials until the time we ship from our warehouse. This takes into account the time required for creating the artwork, making screen plates and producing the sample, layout and design of the box, mass producing the model and the box, packaging, and then shipping by container either to our warehouse in Arizona or directly to the customer.

What We Need To Know

To create a custom model we require the following information: type of model, aircraft type, livery drawings, and paint chips.

Model Type
All of our Flight Miniatures^® models are injection molded of glossy plastic and professionally finished in great detail. However, if you need another type of model such as die-cast metal we may still be able to help. Please contact us to review options.

Aircraft Type
The first step is to determine if we have tooling for the aircraft that you require. Check the list of available models to see if we have the aircraft type and scale that you need.

If the aircraft type that you need is not available, it is still possible to have new tooling created. However, additional time and considerable costs are involved in creating new tooling. Contact us for complete details.

Livery Drawings
In order to provide accurate pricing for producing the model, we will need to see the full livery design of the aircraft to get an idea of what would be involved, in terms of artwork creation, film plates, production line, etc.

We prefer that the customer provide us with electronic files (in vector format) of the paint drawings, but if they are not available the next best option is to provide blueprints that we can convert to the electronic format we use. The least preferred method is to work from photographs or renderings. (Note that if electronic files of the paint drawings are not available for producing the model, a graphics charge may be added.)

Paint Chips
We need to have the paint chips for all the colors used in painting the aircraft. If the paint chips are not available and we can not reference actual paint colors from our files Pantone Matching System (PMS) numbers are acceptable, although they are usually not as accurate as actual paint chips.
